At Thanet Gymnastics Club, we take great pride in celebrating the progress and achievements of all our members through two key annual events — our Summer Festival and our Club Competition.
Both events are highlights of our club calendar and play an important role in building confidence, community spirit, and pride among our gymnasts. They also provide valuable fundraising opportunities to help us continue improving our equipment and facilities, ensuring that every child can enjoy the best possible gymnastics experience.
summer festival
Our Summer Festival is held each year (dates to be confirmed) and provides an opportunity for our young gymnasts to showcase their skills, creativity, and teamwork. This event is very much child-led, allowing members to demonstrate the skills they are most proud of — from apparatus work to dance routines and group performances. It’s a true celebration of gymnastics within our club community, encouraging confidence, friendship, and team spirit.
This year, for example, our festival included sponsorship and investment activities, as well as a creative poster competition where every child was invited to design a “Join Us” poster. The designs were proudly displayed during a club parade, giving our gymnasts the chance to share their ideas and enthusiasm with everyone involved.
Participation in the Festival is open to all members and entirely optional — it’s a fun, inclusive event designed to celebrate the joy of movement and performance.

Towards the end of each year, typically in November or December, we hold our Annual Club Competition. This structured competition gives all our gymnasts the valuable experience of performing in a judged environment.
Gymnasts are evaluated fairly according to their age and ability, with medals awarded for Gold, Silver, and Bronze performances, along with recognition certificates for all participants.
